Experience hot air balloons firing up the night sky.

Balloonists from all over New Zealand are travelling to this event providing a unique opportunity to experience hot air balloons lighting up the night sky, glowing in unison to music.

Surrounding the Night Glow will be an autumn festival including live music, children’s entertainment and an amazing array of street food, this unique autumn festival will entertain the whole family.

Gates Open:            3pm

Chilton House:        3pm – 4.30pm

Balloon Walk:          3pm – 5.30pm

Sound Sensation:   4.30pm – 6pm

Night Glow:             approx. 6pm

Sound Sensation:   7pm

Fireworks:               approx. 7.30pm

Sound Sensation:   7.40pm

Event Close:            8.30pm

Please note the programme is subject to change, listen for MC announcements on the night. 

Plenty of free on site parking, with an expert crew of volunteers to make getting in and out of the event smooth.

Please note the car park will open at 2.30pm. Self Contained motorhomes are welcome to park overnight, click here for details.

Location: Hororata Domain, 61 Hororata Road. Only 40 minutes from Christchurch airport, 30 minutes from Rolleston, 45 minutes from Ashburton or Rangiora.

This is not a dog friendly event, please leave your pooches at home the balloons may frighten them. No BYO alcohol or glass, there are two licensed bars at the event, including The Laboratory with their craft beers and ciders. You are welcome to bring a picnic, however there are heaps of food vendors at the event.

Postponement date: Sunday 19th May. Please note balloons are subject to weather. If the event is postponed to Sunday the 19th May the festival will run regardless of weather.
No refunds will be given if the event is postponed or the balloons are unable to perform.
