Experience hot air balloons firing up the night sky.
Balloonists from all over New Zealand are travelling to this event providing a unique opportunity to experience hot air balloons lighting up the night sky, glowing in unison to music.
Surrounding the Night Glow will be an autumn festival including live music, children’s entertainment and an amazing array of street food, this unique autumn festival will entertain the whole family.
Discounted early bird tickets on sale now until 11.55pm Friday 17th May – every purchaser goes in the draw to win a balloon flight with Ballooning Canterbury for four people. Car Park Opens: 2.30pm

Cold Inflated Balloon Walk: 3pm – 5.00pm (walk inside a hot air balloon!)
UC Balloon Science Activities & Demos: 3.30pm demonstration’s every half hour
Tug O’ War Have A Go: 3.30pm – 5.00pm
Glow Circus (kids join in for free): 4.30pm – 8.00pm (will stop during Night Glow)
UC Weather Balloon Release: 4.30pm

*The weather and wind may affect when the Night Glow happens and the length of the performance. 5.30pm is the earliest time the Night Glow could happen. The balloons will not leave the ground at any point during the performance.

Location: Hororata Domain, 61 Hororata Road. Only 40 minutes from Christchurch airport, 30 minutes from Rolleston, 45 minutes from Ashburton or Rangiora.
This is not a dog friendly event, please leave your pooches at home the balloons may frighten them. No BYO alcohol or glass, there are two licensed bars at the event, including The Laboratory with their craft beers and ciders. You are welcome to bring a picnic, however there are heaps of food vendors at the event.
Postponement date: Sunday 19th May. Please note balloons are subject to weather. If the event is postponed to Sunday the 19th May the festival will run regardless of weather.
No refunds will be given if the event is postponed or the balloons are unable to perform.
