Hororata locals are passionate about their Pie. When the Pub was damaged in the September 2010 earthquakes no one wanted to see the iconic pie become just a memory. Fortunately for Canterbury, Mrs. Hutton’s legendary Hororata Pie recipe was acquired by locals and in an act of true philanthropy, they have since given this to the Hororata Community Trust as custodian of the taonga to benefit the community.
Thanks for supporting our community! See you at the Hororata Highland Games where you can grab a pie from the Pie Cart and enter the legendary Hororata Pie eating competition!
