Highland Games Training Day 2025

Ever wanted to toss a caber or hurl a hammer? Now’s your chance. Join us for a Scottish Heavy Athletics training day 6th September.

Train in the powerful and technical sport of Scottish Heavy Athletics, where strength, skill, and determination come together. This hands-on training day covers all the classic events: Caber Toss, Hammer Throw, Stone Putt, Weight for Distance, and Sheaf Toss.

Led by experienced competitors Craig Manson and David Jackways—each with over 10 years of Highland Games experience. The day is open to all ability levels. Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned athlete wanting to sharpen your technique, this is a valuable chance to develop your skills.

You must be over 14 years old and have a good base level of fitness.
Kilts are not required. Closed-toed shoes with good grip are essential.
