All tickets will be sold to the event through Eventfinda and will be limited to 10,000 people.

To manage crowd size there will be no gate sales with all tickets to be sold prior to the event online or at selected locations. This will ensure there is plenty of space and food vendors for everyone to have an enjoyable event. Tickets will go on sale soon! Watch out for the early bird specials.

Plenty of free on-site parking, with an expert crew of volunteers to make getting in and out of the event smooth.

Self-Contained motorhomes are welcome to park overnight.

Hororata Domain, 61 Hororata Road.

Only 60 minutes from Christchurch airport or Rangiora, 45 minutes from Rolleston, 45 minutes from Ashburton.

We recommend if you are coming from Christchurch direction to come through Darfield, not up Bealey Rd. This will ensure traffic is split between the two roads and hopefully avoids any major traffic jams.

the 7th May the festival will run regardless of the weather. A decision on postponement will be made by 8 pm Friday 5th May. If the event is postponed tickets will automatically be transferred to the 7th of May, however, there will be no refunds if the event is postponed and the ticket holder cannot attend.

*Please note: The weather and wind may affect when the Night Glow happens and the type and length of their performance. 5.30 pm is the earliest time the Night Glow could happen. The balloons will not leave the ground at any point during the performance.

No refunds will be given if the event is postponed or the balloons are unable to perform.

If COVID 19 affects the running of this event, refunds will be available for tickets purchased. The Hororata Community Trust is a member of the New Zealand Event Association and we will be implementing the industry best practice guidelines at this event. This means we will have contact tracing procedures in place.

No dogs, no BYO alcohol, no glass.

We will be conducting bag searches at the gate.

This is a smoke-free event.

We have a huge selection of food vendors at the event however you are welcome to bring a picnic.

There will be two licenced bars at the event. We are managing the capacity of this festival by limiting ticket sales this will avoid the overcrowding issues experienced at the 2019 event.  Click here for more FAQ
