To celebrate the 132nd anniversary of women’s suffrage, take a rare journey into the homes – and hearts – of two of Aotearoa’s influential suffrage advocates: Sir John Hall and Kate Sheppard.

Historian Kate Foster, great-granddaughter of Sir John Hall, and Helen Osborne from Heritage New Zealand will guide you through the private lives, shared convictions, and strategic partnership that helped secure the vote for women in Aotearoa New Zealand in 1893. This event is on Sunday September 21, starting at Kate Sheppard House in Christchurch and going to Terrace Station where you can go into John Hall’s office.
