Christmas in the Domain

The festive season is coming to Malvern with ‘Christmas in the Hororata Domain’, Sunday 4th December 4pm – 7.30pm. A free event. The Hororata Community Trust has joined with the Hororata Parish and Fire Brigade to bring this event to the Hororata Domain with free activities, music, and more.

“This is a chance for people to come together and relax for a few hours during the busy silly season! Thanks to funding from the Selwyn District Council and Hororata Community Trust there are free activities with Peddlemania, archery, balloon twisting, bouncy castle and face painting. The Hororata Fire Brigade will run their slip and slide so kids make sure you bring your togs,” said organiser Karen Meares.

There is a great lineup of performers who will take to the stage for the afternoon including the Malvern School of Music, Selwyn Community Choir, Noel Nielsen, the Rolleston Brass Band, Duncan Chisholm and the Bad Revival Job Band.

There will also be food for sale with coffee, ice cream, hot chips, sausage sizzle and Hungarian-style fried bread. Cash will be required for food stalls.

People are encouraged to bring their own chairs and picnic rugs as there is no seating provided.

There will be a ‘Giving Tree’ which people can make donations of toys and food which will then be given to the Darfield Food Bank.

This is a free event, no registration is needed.
