To manage crowd size there will be no gate sales with all tickets to be sold prior to the event online or at selected locations. This will ensure there is plenty of space and food vendors for everyone to have an enjoyable event.

Plenty of free on-site parking, with an expert crew of volunteers to make getting in and out of the event smooth. We recommend carpooling as this reduces traffic congestion.

Self-Contained motorhomes are welcome to park overnight, $10 per night per site.

Hororata Domain, 61 Hororata Road.

Only 60 minutes from Christchurch airport or Rangiora, 45 minutes from Rolleston, 45 minutes from Ashburton. Allow extra time as traffic will be heavy.

We recommend if you are coming from Christchurch direction to come through Darfield, not up Bealey Rd. This will ensure traffic is split between the two roads and hopefully avoids any major traffic jams.

Sunday 11th May 2025

  • If the weather is not favourable on Saturday 10th of May, the event will be postponed to Sunday 11th of May. This may be due to wind or other weather that affects the balloon’s performance.
  • If the event is postponed, it will run regardless of the weather on Sunday 11th May.
  • If needed, a decision on postponement will be made by 8pm Friday 9th May.
  • If the event is postponed, tickets will automatically be transferred to Sunday 11th of May.
  • There will be no refunds if the event is postponed and the ticketholder cannot attend. This is a full festival offering a huge range of entertainment and activities.

No dogs, no BYO alcohol, no glass.

The weather and wind may affect when the Night Glow happens and the type and length of their performance. 5.30 pm is the earliest time the Night Glow could happen. We recommend being at the event by 5pm to ensure you don’t miss anything.

The balloons will not leave the ground at any point during the performance.

No refunds will be given if the event is postponed or the balloons are unable to perform. If the balloons are unable to inflate they will perform a burner glow.

There will be no gate sales. In 2023 this event sold out.

We will be conducting bag searches at the gate.

This is a smoke-free event.

Bring a torch as it will be dark when you return to your car.

We have a huge selection of food vendors at the event however you are welcome to bring a picnic.
