WHAT IS THE HORORATA HIGHLAND GAMES?  

The Hororata Highland Games is more than just a traditional Highland Games with Scottish Dancing, Piping, Drumming and Heavy Events.

It is a Scottish Festival with fun for all the family.  2012 will see a Children's Heavy Event introduced, a new center field with a Beer Tent, Heavy Events and a larger more exciting Tug-o-war area.

Soon we'll be announcing sponsorship arrangements that will add excitement and entertainment to the day.

The Hororata Highland Games in 2011 had over 10,000 visitors, it is a true spectacular for the competitors and the visitors.

All profits from the Hororata Highland Games are reinvested in the local community to help rebuild post quake.
